Now she is at the point of actually liking food and eating it. (Instead of throwing it on the floor and just playing with it !) Here's A selection of Emelia's favourite meals.
Breakfast between 7-30 and 8-30
  1. 1x Weetabix made with warm formula (4oz) half used in a sippy cup to have with her Breakfast.
  2. 2 ingredient pancakes. 1x Mashed banana and 1x egg mixed and made into fritters using a little butter. Sometimes we add blueberries.
  3. A slice of Toast with either Marmite, low sugar jam or just a tiny bit of butter.

Morning snack 10-30 - 11-00
Her Morning snack is still milk which I hope to eventually change to a healthy food snack .

Lunch between 12-30 and 2-00 (dependent on wether we are out and also naps)
  1. Cream cheese sandwich (crust removed one slice of wholemeal bread)  and  grazing snacks (cucumber, grapes, ella kitchen melts, tomatoes)
  2. cheesy scrambled egg 1x egg and a small handfull of cheese tiny splash of milk. A few toast soldiers
  3. Humous and breadsticks and grazing snacks as above.
(if Emelia is still hungry I tend to give her some fruit puree i've prepared or 1/2 banana

Depending on when she naps and how early she has her lunch depends on wether she has an afternoon snack. If lunch is nearer 2 she doesn't always need one and I just offer water. But if she is hungry she will either have about 4oz of milk or a couple of breadsticks/cracker.
Dinner 5-00 pm
obviously this varies quite a bit now that she is eating alot more and capable of eating more complex meals. I try to incorparate parts of my meal into hers everyday which tend to be tons of veggies which at the moment she loves !
  1. My first pizza using mini tortilla wraps cover with chopped tomatoes with herbs. Sprinkle cheese and add different toppings. Oven cook for 10 mins or until slightly browned. Slice and serve. Emelia loves these! they are super quick and easy and you know what ingredients are going in them.
  2. Mediterranean Risoto a complete mix of med veg aubergines, courgettes, peppers tomatos. Risoto rice.
  3. Homemade fish pie. My mum taught me this recipe however I think she originally found it in an Annabel Karmel book. The recipe contains hard boiled eggs! I'm going to try and find a similar one if I can so will link it if I do.

Desert

Cut up fresh fruit. Raspberries,  (her favourite like me !) strawberries, bluberries etc ( basically whatever we have in)

And yoghurt, again whatever we have in. Sometimes framaige fres which of course goes down a treat or natural yoghurt with a bit of fruit puree if she hasnt had puree for lunch. Or for a treat (like 1 a month!)  a mini milk because those things are yummy. (Emelia demolishes)

Bedtime 7-00

8oz Bottle and the sleepiest snuggles.
Obviously things change up a bit and if we are out and about we do less baby led (too messy) and more spoon fed items! But this is a few of Emelia's favourites. I try and vary things for her so she doesnt get bored but theres not really anything she has refused. Being a veggie she does eat very much like me at the moment as its easier . I said in one of my previous weaning posts that I would feed her meat which I do but I would say 95% of her meals are vegetarian. She only ever eats meat when Reggie is not working over tea time. Let me know some of your little ones favorite meals we love trying new recipes!

A few of Emelia's birthday presents. I found myself searching for posts of other peoples ideas for inspiration. So I thought I would do a little one of my own! I will try to link as many of the items as possible as well.

1) Emelias "main" present from us is a little dolls pram. I have known for ages that I wanted to get her one for her first birthday I just wasnt sure what to go for. We've gone for something she can use right away and is totally gorgeous !

2. We've also picked up a Happy land set from ELC. My sister had these as a child and I remembered she used to play with her sets for hours!  I'm hoping she will start to get some interest in them over the next few months and the parts are very durable and not too small. Obviously anything that is to small we will just put to one side. Just a quick side note. When checking the link to this item they are still available but when we purchased the item it was less than half the price in mothercare so whether they will reduce again I don't know.

3. We had to get something from Emelias favorite little tv program ! so we have brought her the little character set to play with. She loves smaller items to play with so again I hope she will start to really like this throughout her second year.  We picked up her set in B&M of all places and I cant find the exact one online anywhere. The set was £14.99 and has alot more charecters than most packs do

4. This ones a bit of a random one but Ive heard so many good things about these and also the little eggs they do aswell. Appariently they keep little ones occupied for ages !? So the little cupcakes have to be matched up with the shapes on the bottom and they are brighltly coloured and can be stacked and packed into the little box. And probably lost aswell! Great for role play, learning and something a little different.

Puzzles and Books. We've chosen a few slightly more grown up books and puzzles to add to the collection. Ive become that mum that chooses learning ones ! (sighs)

We've chosen a few clothing items and other smaller bits but the above 5 are her toys from us. Below, I have included A small list of presents people have brought for Emelia. We were asked what she might like which is good so she wont get any duplicates!
  • Q play NI:CO 6 in 1 trike
  • Plum play swing (which her Grandma has kindly let her have early and its set up in the garden!)
  • First dolly (My first baby annabelle doll)
  • tea set
  • garden rocker sea-saw
  • indoor rocking horse

Herobility review

I first came across Herobility Actually through it’s sister company, and using the smart shakers after working out ! I still use their shakers when on the go. They are so handy and have a very similar everything in one, compact storage solution to snacking and drinking on the go, as the baby range does with Herobility.

The Swedish brand company have created a fab range of baby bottles, sippy cups and accessories in beautiful pastel shades. All made with hard wearing plastic.

We have been trying the Herobility bottle, sippy cup and thermos flask. Emelia took the bottle instantly. She has always been quite fussy when it comes to taking bottles and it can be quite hard to get her to take one, so I was surprised! and I was really intrigued with the teat shape. It’s slightly flat and fits the shape of the mouth and nose comfortably and I definitely think this is why she took it so well. The grip is really good and she was able to hold the bottle herself.
The bottle itself has 5 separate parts including the lid, cup, teat, mixer and storage pot. All these parts can be sterilised and the storage pot can be used to hold formula or snacks.

The thermos flask is excellent sized and perfect for keeping temperatures either hot or cold for 10 hours. It does not leak, and has a two flow system. And the best thing? It’s just so beautiful ! The matte finish and pastel pink is so pretty and goes perfectly with the bottle.

The sippy cup is great again, each part can be taken apart and efficiently cleaned and it has a useful handle which can be kept on or easily removed. The soft spout is easy to drink from and the hygienic cover fits perfectly for transportation.
Picture
I love that this range is so unique and different to other generic bottle brands on the market. The colours are so appealing and suitable for either gender or neutral. I would say it is more of a luxury range however when on sale you can pick up some of the bottles for a really affordable price.

I would 100% recommend Herobility. Also a great bottle to try if you are struggling with transitioning from breastfeeding with the natural shaped teat. For 20% off 3 or more Herobility products use code robyn.anthony20 at the checkout!
