Just a short getting to know me post of the things I like to do in me time (when I get it!). Is it just me, or does everyone have to take there little ones everywhere they go to keep an eye on them? Yes I hear you say! Sorting the washing, and even showering. Unless Reggie is here or she is napping with the monitor on, she comes with me! Little luxury's like showering or bathing in peace have long gone. And the days of spending loads of time on myself are history! I do find once she’s gone to bed in the evenings I stay up that little later, even just an hour, so I can have that bit of time to myself.
1. The gym/excerising :
As I mentioned in one of my previous posts I love to exercise! Its something I find helps with my energy levels, as well as de-stress me. Even just some light yoga or stretching makes me feel better after, sometimes a stressful day. I class this as me time although a lot of my fitness and exercising is done while I'm with Emelia. I do, do the odd gym session when I can.
Mum used to bake with us all the time when we were younger, and because she worked with children, it was a weekly thing on the timetable. This is definitely where I got my love of baking from. I tend to just bake at home and family birthday cakes, but I can't wait to teach Emelia. Most of the recipes I use are ones that my mum used and I love how they remind me so much of her.
3. Candles :
I love candles! They are relaxing, they smell good and can completely change your mood. Pretty holders and different scent candles are available EVERYWHERE. They seem very on trend at the moment, and I think candles in general, give off the loveliest ambience.
I always try to have a pamper evening once a week and spend time exfoliating, doing a face mask and painting my nails. I don't always get the opportunity, but I feel so much better when I do get the time to. My favourite exfoliater for my face is "Decleor phytopeel". It's different to your usual granular style exfoliater, but it always makes my skin feel so much fresher and cleaner.
5. Writing :
I’m loving writing this blog! Its nice to put pen to paper (fingers to keys) and write down all those thoughts and feelings in life. I guess I do it in picture form on Instagram, so now being able to write alongside is great. I do a lot of my blog writing when Emelia is feeding, napping or during the night when awake with her her. It sometimes is a squeeze, but I find note writing helps me think up topics, and arrange what blog posts I'm going to do.
